Papua New Guinea's distinct geography with rugged mountains, fertile highlands and a climate influenced by the tropical Pacific creates ideal conditions for growing coffee with pronounced clarity and complexity. We source this coffee through our friends at Bruhouse coffee who work with trusted cooperatives and smallholder farms across the Highlands, where altitudes of 1,500–1,800 meters encourage slow cherry development and concentrated flavour.
Papua New Guinea is a relatively overlooked coffee origin and it is still relatively uncommon to find it on offer at UK coffee roasteries. This is a shame as it produces very good coffee with a lovely chocolately, spicey, earthy profile that works really well as a medium roast for a well rounded everyday drinking brew.
