Our Burundi is from the Kayanza Province, in northern Burundi. It is processed at the Gitwenge washing station using stream water.

This coffee is sourced through JNP Coffee who have a mission to improve the lives of women in Burundi through speciality coffee.  They work closely with a 600 strong co-op of female coffee growers who share the success that their coffee enjoys through a premium payment programme. JNP also purchase the majority of coffee grown by the Burundi chapter of the International Women's Coffee Alliance and support organisations that teach women financial literacy and leadership skills.

On average, coffee farmers in Burundi are around 25 years old and own between 25 and 50 trees. The average tree is around 20 years old, though in recent years farmers have been planting new trees, thanks to nursery programs.

Flavour profile:  The Burundi is one of our most popular coffees and has been with us since the start.  It's a great all rounder and makes a lovely espresso but it suits all brewing methods.  Taken to a medium roast, it's great with or without milk and has a nutty, chocolatey flavour with a hint of spice.

Roast level:  Medium

Region:  Kayanza

Process:  Washed

Varietal:  Bourbon

The postage charge on online purchases can be a surprise when you get to the checkout so we think it best to be upfront and let you know the costs before you get that far.

We only use Royal Mail first class which is not the cheapest option but it is the most reliable. We absorb as much of the cost as we can, but to absorb it all just wouldn't be viable for a business of our size.

Our postal charges are £2.25 for an order up to 500 grams and £2.90 for anything over 500 grams.

If you spend over £25 shipping is free to anywhere in the UK and we also offer free delivery to the BS3 and BS4 Bristol postcodes - contact us and we'll give you the discount code.
